Aerodynamics Research for Renewable Energy Systems

Our research focuses on advancing wind energy and other renewable energy and fuel saving technologies through the study of aerodynamics.  We specialize in experimental fluid mechanics, using a range of facilities and cutting-edge measurement techniques to study individual components (e.g., wings, blades, and rotors), and fully integrated systems (e.g., aircraft, wind turbines, and wind farms).

Our group is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We welcome and value diverse backgrounds and perspectives in our common goals of research innovation and scientific discovery. Our group strives to foster an inclusive environment, where all identities are welcome and respected to cultivate a more creative, collaborative, and fun work environment.

We are seeking motivated students for MASc and PhD positions. Interested candidates should contact John Kurelek (john.kurelek@queensu.ca).
